Human beings are fortunate that one function of memory is to forget the enormous amount of data a person absorbs throughout their lifetime. Important events are often difficult to forget and they either become valuable life lessons or unhealthy obsessions that if left unresolved become a grudge that gives a vindictive person a reason to hold something against someone. Conservatives have held a grudge against Progressives and FDR over the New Deal and especially the creation of the Social Security Trust, and they are obsessed with destroying the most successful and popular program in the nation’s history.
In 2010, George W. Bush said his greatest failure was not privatizing Social Security even though doing so in 2005 would have left tens-of-millions of retired Americans without security in their old age after the stock market crashed in 2008. Bush’s regret at not destroying Social Security when he had the opportunity informs the level of contempt conservatives have for the American people and it seemed that Republicans learned their lesson, but their obsession with the New Deal prevents them from learning. Perhaps Republicans are competing with each other to be the conservative hero that gets even with Progressives for creating Social Security, and if presidential hopeful Willard “Mitt” Romney wins the nomination and presidency, he promises to be the hero that destroys Social Security.

Romney just wants to transfer approximately $2.7 trillion in surplus assets in the Social Security Trust Fund to Wall Street to enrich himself and other high-income investors. A typical conservative ploy to convince Americans Social Security does not work is to label it a failure and a fraud and Romney said, "To put it in a nutshell, the American people have been effectively defrauded out of their Social Security," and that there is a "looming bankruptcy of Social Security."

We're not going to let Mitt Romney become president.
Besides, most like and want to keep Social Security.

Unfortunately, the poor, the working class, and the middle class aren't organized the way the corporate class is. Politicians only respond to organizational pressure. Unions used to potently represent the interests of the average American, but corporate America organized to crush unions starting in the mid-70s. We have to organize, and not just around election time. Constant policy pressure is how the wealthy took over our government. Such pressure is the only way we can restore democracy.

I view Occupy as a group that may turn out to be somewhere to start. If we can't organize
with this wonderful tool (inter-net) then I don't have any answer. I think the right wing
christians, organize in churches.

That statement in itself will guarantee that he will not be elected even if he does get the nomination. Once the Senior Citizens find out that he represents a clear and present danger to our very existence, he is toast. The seniors represent the single biggest voter block in the country which is why Obama is courting the Hispanic minority and trying to buy them off with his illegal promises of amnesty for the illegals here most of whom are of Hispanic heritage. In his arrogance he is throwing them under the bus to suit his own agenda and will pay the price. I wonder just how he will attempt to explain this away.

I thought that traditionally, Hispanic voters favored republicans. Latino voters on the other
hand are a different people, who happen to vote for Obama by large numbers.

Hey everyone, my name is Mitt and I'm a hero! Now I may not be your cup of tea yet, but give me some time and I'll have you eating out of my hand. When I need to win over conservatives, I just say that I'm one of them. They fall for it hook line and sinker and I'm sure it will work for me this time as it has in the past. You can't find too much dirt on me because I had the good sense to delete most of my records as governor of Mass. So take my word conservatives. I'll say anything to get your vote.

And just think Romney bot can still clam social security when he is of age even with all his Billion vacationing in the Camen Islands. Romney bot do us all a favor that leave SS for those of us who actually need it!

Willard can make all the claims he wants - he still can't settle on what he wants to tell people, considering how ridiculous these candidates are all sounding these days - but to touch SS is a political death sentence.
Let him keep that message, and he might as well kiss any chance he may have had off.
All these republicans will talk themselves right out of any chance for office with their extremism.

Let's see if he does KEEP that message or go with a new one tomorrow. Mitt is not a hero!

I will loot the whole pot, invest til I get caught, and make money with all of my might.
Yes I'm a hero! just watch entitlements turn into the rich mans boot.
So vote for me, I'll set the companies free, so they can rake in all of the loot.
Cause I'm a hero!

"In 2010, George W. Bush said his greatest failure was not privatizing Social Security..."
Oh, it's quite the contrary! Dubya's greatest failure WAS his presidency!
He also said that he wanted his presidency to be "consequential" and today America is living with the consequences. If we use the resulting economic wreckage as the standard, I suppose George was a success.

I think his greatest failure was his use of the English language.

Some Schizophrenia is not a terrible thing, because some schizoprenia makes campaigning really swing.
I say one thing today!...Tomorrow, NOT, and what was "is" today, tomorrow isn't not!
I never know just what is coming out of me, but I forgot what I just said, I've had a lobotomy.
I can't pick left or right. Yes, No, or maybe, might? I should stay out of sight til I can get it right.

Bluebird, that reminds me of a poem.

Violets are blue
I'm a schizophrenic
And so am I

This is not suprising given that Romney and his buddies engaged in destroying businesses when he was head of Bain Capital. This guy is not about letting people work, live, and retire in dignity.
