Democrats pounced on Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus for comparing President Barack Obama to the Italian cruise ship captain who is charged with abandoning his passengers.
“Well, let me just say that if you are so desperate for attention that you make an analogy that Michael Steele deems inappropriate, you know you’ve probably gone too far,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said in the daily press briefing Monday, referring to Mr. Priebus’s predecessor at the RNC.
Mr. Carney’s comments followed a statement from Mr. Priebus’s counterpart at the Democratic National Committee, Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, saying he “crossed the line” and “should be ashamed of his comments.”
In an interview Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Mr. Priebus likened Mr. Obama’s job performance to that of Francesco Schettino, the captain of the Italian cruise ship Costa Concordia who was arrested on charges of manslaughter and abandoning ship after 17 people died as his ship capsized off the coast of Italy.

That he would compare the president of the United States with a man now charged with manslaughter for his actions shows a lack of respect for the president that is beyond the bounds of appropriate political discourse,
There's just no limit too low for these people to stoop.

I absolutely can't stand Reince Priebus. He is one of the more inflammatory and repugnant chairs the RNC has had. Well, I take that back. In looking up former RNC Chairs, I see Lee Atwater headed it at one time. Ugh!

That mealy mouthed little rat acts like a puny mouse running around in the herd of panic stricken stampeding elephants trying to look like one of them and feel big and important, but in instead is totally impotent.
Michael Steele was far better at the job than Pathetic Preibus. He only wishes he was as smart and important as he thinks he is. That statement is certain to come back and bite him in the a$$ as well as the rest of the herd....erh...GOPTeaBags.

What else would you expect from a turd like Reince. He helped elect Scott Walker. He's a bottom feeder.

So this is campaign rhetoric? And one of the candidates is immune? When did that rule change?
